MAPSO for AUS: Recap and Next Steps

As of right now, we have raised $841 for the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS), an organization supporting first responders, animal rescuers, and victims of the brushfires currently bombarding Australia.

On Saturday morning, we opened up a fundraiser via GoFundMe and posted to Instagram pledging to donate $1 for every share of that post, until we reached 500 shares (a $500 contribution). The goal was to raise awareness, provide a straight forward way for people to help, and lead by example. We were shocked by the response. We quickly hit and surpassed the $500 mark, and generous individuals continued to make donations of their own. Today, we transferred 100% of the funds generated from this campaign over to the NSW RFS - a total donation of $1,213.05 AUD, or $841 USD.

We'd like to thank all those who have helped us raise awareness about this issue, and especially those who have donated themselves. In an effort to be as transparent about this process as possible, please see below the donation confirmation from the NSW RFS and the breakdown of where this money so far has come from:

$500 - Mapsosupply

$341 - Independent Donors

Please note that as we have passed our $500 target, we can no longer match your post shares with our own $1. Nonetheless, we are still accepting contributions to our GoFundMe. All donations after this point will be transferred over to the NSW RFS as we receive them. We encourage you to consider donating as little as $1 yourself because as we have seen, it really does add up. If you'd like, you can also donate directly to the NSW RFS at the link below:

At this point in time, the best thing we can do to help is to donate. If you'd like to explore other organizations to donate to, here are Insider's 8 recommendations.

The only reason we are in a position to help causes like these is because of your support. Thank you for helping us help Australia.
